☀️Edenvale Gardens Regional Park, San Jose☀️
This wonderful park, located adjacent to the Hayes Mansion, has been a favorite of ours for years. A true “destination park,” it offers much more than a playground. Here are the highlights:
🌱Lovely natural area, circled by a partly-shaded paved path that’s great for walking, biking, scootering, etc. Dog-friendly.
🌱Dirt paths (fun for kids on bikes), rocks and trees for exploring, two amphitheaters, tons of space for nature play
🌱Fun train-themed playground (train runs nearby) with big and little kid structures, fun rock-climbing area, tons of swings
🌱Basketball court, sand volleyball court, tennis courts
🌱Tons of picnic tables, plus a shady lawn where you can spread a blanket
🌱Fun birdhouses and signage from Frontier Village to search for, plus a geocache (tough to find, but it’s there!)
🌱Parking lot next to Hayes Mansion or street parking on the far side of the park
🌱Restrooms next to the playground
🌱Park is gated at night, which keeps it in better shape than some other city parks.
Negatives:
❌No shade on the playground
❌Tanbark
❌Bathroom isn't the cleanest
Overall, a local gem. Worth a visit if you haven’t been — bring wheels 🚲, balls🏐, and a picnic🥪.
