Bowers Park features:
๐ฑLarge main structure with ramp access to lower levels — lots of features and room for many kids (theoretically very accessible, though tanbark negates a lot of the value)
๐ฑReally cool, creative climbing structure
๐ฑSmall but fun toddler/preschooler structure
๐ฑSeveral swing types, including parent/child swing and saucer, plus spinner and spring features
๐ฑLarge grassy field and picnic tables
๐ฑRestrooms (though they’re waaaaay across the lawn)
๐ฑStreet parking on Barkley Avenue side is closest to the playground
.
Negatives:
❌No shade to speak of
❌Tanbark ground surface (kind of negates the benefits of the very accessible structure)
.
Overall a great park, worth checking out! Climbers and monkey bar aficionados will love it. Bring balls, kites, or bubbles for playing on the lawn, or scooters/roller skates to practice in the circular paved area.
.
Main entrance is on Cabrillo Ave between San Tomas and Bowers, though driving around to the Barkley Ave entrance puts you closer to the playground.
.
Enjoy!
