Heat Wave, Day 3: Dozens of Ideas for Indoor Fun

Burning energy while Mama stays cool!
It's Day 3 of this heat wave, and after two days of sharing outdoor cool-down posts (Playground Water Features on Tuesday, Shady Playgrounds on Wednesday), here's a chance to skip the sunblock and head indoors. This is not an exhaustive post -- just an "off the top of my head" list that I'm aiming to finish in 20 minutes or so -- and it isn't gonna be pretty or contain links or hours, but hopefully it will give you some direction when you have a wiggly kid and need a break from the sun. Enjoy, and stay cool!

If you appreciate this post, PLEASE consider doing your Amazon shopping via my affiliate links (one can be found in the right-hand side bar) -- it helps keep SV Toddler going, at no additional cost to you!

Other ideas:
  • Check out the website for the various California Sports Centers for Open Gym hours (we've been to the one in Morgan Hill -- super fun! -- but I know there are several others)
  • Check out the websites for My Gym, Little Gym and Gymboree -- I think all offer a free trial class, and some also offer drop-in classes
  • Visit your local library, or try a new one. Some of our favorites are the Bascom, Cambrian, Evergreen, Almaden, and Willow Glen branches in San Jose or the Palo Alto Children's Library adjacent to Rinconada Park.
Stay cool and have fun!
