Toddler X's Weekend Picks: April 19th-20th

Happy weekend, toddler friends! We've got a slew of Easter events on tap for those who celebrate the holiday (or those who just enjoy hunting for candy-filled eggs), and plenty of other fun activities for those who don't. Whatever you choose, enjoy this springtime loveliness with your toddler!

First, the Easter events:

  • Easter Bunny Arrives by Helicopter, Hiller Aviation, San Carlos, 11:00 a.m.
  • CANCELLED: Our Lady of Fatima Villa Easter Egg Hunt, Saratoga, 11:00 a.m. (Our Lady of Fatima is a senior citizen's facility, and I bet they can't wait to see all the darling little people hunting for eggs!)
  • Eggstravaganza, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Egg hunts, carnival rides, entertainment and more.
  • Bunnies and Bonnets ParadeDowntown Campbell, 12:00 p.m. Arrive early to participate in the chalk art project for all ages.
  • Roaring Camp Railroads Eggstraordinary Easter Egg Hunt and TrainAlso not really Silicon Valley, but we plan to try this one, so I wanted to share with you as well. Hunt is included with tickets on the 11:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. steam train rides (kids under 2 are free; kids 2-12 are $19; and adults (13+) are $26). I called and they said that the ride, as a whole, takes about an hour and a half, with a 15 minute or so stopover at the halfway point on Bear Mountain for the egg hunt. They have it divided by age group so toddlers aren't getting run over. :)
  • Booksin School Egg Hunt (Willow Glen), San Jose, 1:00 p.m. (Free) (One of our readers tipped us off to this one, but I can't find any additional information online.)
