Let's Get Wet!

Have a toddler who loves the water? While kiddie pools and sprinklers have their charm, the true action is at the playground water features around the South Bay.

Here are some of our favorites:
  • Ortega Park, Sunnyvale (Best of the best!)
  • John D. Morgan Park, Campbell (Rincon Avenue entrance)
  • Almaden Lake Park, San Jose (Use Almaden Expressway entrance OR park on Winfield Drive for free and take a stroll around the lake to get there. If you have a parking pass from Happy Hollow, it should also work for the lots here.)
  • Jack Fischer Park, Campbell
  • Rainbow Park, Cupertino (More a water spigot than a water feature, but creates a delightful sandy bog that toddlers love -- see top picture.)

Let us know if there are some good ones we missed, and I'll add them to the list.

(And just a reminder -- be sure to bring swim clothes, a towel, a change of clothes/diaper and some sunblock when you're visiting a water feature, and watch out for the school-age kids. It's hard not to get a bit wild with all that shooting water, but when an 8 year old crashes into a 2 year old at full speed, the 2 year old is going to lose.)

Have fun and stay safe!

  1. Thanks for this post! I have been looking for water parks, Can you also please name the pictures? like which is the second one and third one?

    1. Hi Poorna, so sorry I'm just now seeing your comment. The top picture is Rainbow Park in Cupertino; the 2nd is Ortega Park in Sunnyvale; and the third is John D Morgan Park in Campbell. We also recently enjoyed the water features at Parma Park in Almaden, Jack Fischer Park in Campbell and Lincoln Glen Park in Willow Glen.

Hmm...what to do today?
